BUYER’S GUIDE · A PRACTICAL STARTING POINT
A mattress is a personal purchase. Compare what is inside it and what happens if it does not suit you.
This is a category guide, not a hands-on product test. Product-specific comparisons will identify their sources and checked dates.
Materials and construction
Check whether the mattress uses foam, springs or a hybrid design. Record the layers and any disclosed material details rather than relying on a brand’s comfort label.
Firmness and fit
Firmness descriptions vary between brands. Check dimensions, base requirements, total height and whether your current sheets will fit.
Trial, returns and warranty
Read minimum trial periods, return fees, exclusions and who arranges collection. A warranty and a change-of-mind trial are different things.
Questions to take shopping
Can I try it? What does a return cost? Is delivery included? What base is required? What evidence supports any cooling or support claims?
Build your shortlist
Compare the same size or variant, include total delivered cost and check the terms on the seller’s website before buying.
